A group project in collaboration with Glasgow City Council aiming to improve their Telecare service.
Meetings with current Telecare users, unpaid careers and various health and social care workers highlighted the flaws in current solutions which rely on a persons ability and willingness to use them. As a result, there were two key things we wanted to achieve: 1. Removing the stigma around Telecare 2. Eliminating the need for users to remember to wear, or even think about Telecare Other important factors were: - Low cost - Easy installation - Creating a more proactive rather than reactive system
Our ethos became 'Telecare you don't wear'. In reality, it extended beyond this - not only do you not wear it, but you don't think about it, you don't notice it is there. As a result we came up with a discreet integrated home system which predicts and prevents incidents of risk by monitoring patterns, and reliably reacts to incidents when they occur.
